Introduction
Generative AI can produce a video clip in seconds. Producing a film that holds up on a cinema screen or in primetime is a different challenge entirely. Animatix, led by CEO Sylvain Montreuil, builds AI for professional filmmakers and broadcasters, not for social media, and it has already proven that it works where the bar is highest.
How it works?
Animatix gives studios, broadcasters, and production companies AI tools designed for cinematic quality and professional workflows. Instead of replacing the creative team, it extends it, making ambitious visual storytelling possible at a fraction of the traditional time and cost.
From primetime to the red carpet
Animatix was behind The Assassination of Queen Victoria, the first AI-generated film shown in primetime on broadcast television, on the UK's Channel 5. Its work has been presented at leading film and industry events, including Venice and Cannes, and the company now works from Los Angeles, close to the studios.
Why we funded?
AI will transform how films and television are made, and the winners will be those who earn the trust of professional studios, not just consumers. Animatix has chosen the harder, more defensible path: high-end, cinematic production with paying enterprise customers and a reputation built on screen. It's an early bet on where the entertainment industry is heading.
