Introduction
Small and medium-sized businesses are the backbone of the Norwegian economy, yet they are often poorly served by insurers: complex agreements, high prices and service built for large corporates. Ono, led by Managing Director Rune Arneberg, is building an insurance company designed around their needs.
How it works?
Ono operates as a managing general agent (MGA): it designs, prices and manages insurance products, while the risk is carried by established international insurance partners. This lets Ono move quickly and build tailored products for specific industries, without the capital burden of a traditional insurer.
Local trust, shared strength
Insurance for businesses is built on relationships and local knowledge. Ono combines that local expertise with a shared operating platform for pricing, claims and customer service, so every business gets personal advice backed by modern, efficient systems.
Why we funded?
Insurance is one of OVC's focus areas, and the SME market is large, underserved and ready for change. Ono is developed with OVC Studio, where we build companies hands-on together with experienced industry leaders, and it brings together deep insurance expertise with a strong focus on governance and compliance from day one.
