Introduction
Europe's economy, security and daily life depend on satellites for navigation, communication and Earth observation. Yet orbit is more crowded and more contested than ever, and much of what happens there is still watched from the ground or by non-European systems. Vyoma, based in Germany, gives Europe its own view from space.
How it works?
From Orbit to Operations
Vyoma is building a constellation of satellites that observe other objects in orbit, from active satellites to debris, directly from space. Watching from orbit rather than from the ground gives a clearer and more continuous picture of what is happening, so operators and space commands can detect risks early and protect their assets.
Why we funded?
Space is now critical infrastructure, and Europe cannot rely on others to monitor it. Vyoma combines a clear sovereignty case with hard technology already in orbit and a first institutional customer in ESA. The German new-space ecosystem is small and collaborative, and Vyoma sits at its centre, alongside fellow OVC portfolio company Marble Imaging.
