Marble Imaging's first satellite hasn't launched yet. Its partners in Asia aren't waiting.
The Bremen-based Earth observation company is expanding into the Indo-Pacific, with a new agreement in Taiwan and a partnership in the making in Japan.
Two markets, two moves
In Taiwan, Marble has signed a memorandum of understanding with National Taiwan Ocean University to work together on maritime applications and satellite-based analytics. Marble has also put a business development manager on the ground there.
In Japan, Marble is exploring opportunities with Japan Space Imaging, one of the region's leading Earth observation companies. The two aim to develop solutions together for Japanese and international customers.
Why the Indo-Pacific?
Long coastlines, some of the world's busiest shipping routes, fast-growing infrastructure and rising security needs. The region needs to know what's happening at sea and on land, and it needs to know quickly. Marble sees Taiwan as a gateway to wider Southeast Asian demand.
The countdown
Marble's first very high-resolution satellite is scheduled for launch in February 2027. It will start work with customers already lined up on the other side of the world.
